School Days

Last night Emily gave me papers to fill out –– for middle school. Don't these people know that parents have a hard enough time preparing themselves to send their children to middle school, let alone make us fill out registration forms and choose class electives four months in advance ((sigh)).

Emily has been placed in the advance placement classes. I know it will be alot of work and a big transition from 5th to 6th grade, but I know she will do great. We were going over her elective choices and she will do a 18 week computer class and then she chose a 9 week dance class (umm yeah that will be interesting considering she said it was hip-hop) and art class. Her alternative choice is music. I don't remember having options in middle school, but then again it was a long time ago.

Next year all my kids will be in school, at least part time. Sam is starting preschool, Chris will be in 3rd grade and then Emily is going to middle school. The next 7 weeks will be the last time Emily and Chris are in the same school until Emily is a senior in high school. What a depressing thought.

Middle School... I still can't believe it. I swear just yesterday she was starting Kindergarten. I blinked and years passed by. I am afraid to blink in fear that I will be sitting at her high school graduation. Where does the time go?

Funny you posted this. I got Ashley's registration papers yesterday. There was a note about orientation on May 1st. I was crying to Mark that thats too soon they didn't give enough notice. He wondered what else I had going on that day, I said Nothing but thats to soon to be ready to think about her going to Middle School and going will make it all real.

Middle school. *CLUNK* I know it will be here before I know it, but that just sounds like a million years away right now.
