Cleaning is Hazardous To Your Mental State

It should be stamped on the back of every cleaning item. Because it sure is true.

Cleaning –– I'm so over cleaning. There is always laundry to be washed, clothes to fold and put away, dishes that need cleaned, sinks that have toothpaste on them, floors that need vacuumed, furniture that needs dusted, toys that need put away, trash that needs emptied and papers that need filed. It is a never ending process. I swear I clean a room and then go back 5 minutes later to just have to clean it again.

Honestly it isn't the cleaning part that is so bad, but the maintaining. I don't understand why people have cleaning people because they do the easy work. It is keeping it looking sparkling and shining that is hard.

For example, today I had the kitchen cleaned. But then you eat and you have to clean again. I do the laundry, but then I find something shoved under a bed or socks in the shoe closet after I am already finished washing the clothes. There seems to be a never ending path of shoes and backpacks that I am forever putting away. The kids brush their teeth and somehow it is incomprehensible to actually get the toothpaste on the toothbrush. The sink is a much better place. And please, what about boys and their bathroom aim.

My house is usually pretty well kept. But lately with us always running and Matt now traveling everything is just piling up. Pretty soon my house will explode from all the germs and lack of cleaning. I am just keeping my fingers crossed that no one drops by unexpectedly. Right now I would have to host them in my van. It is the only place that is remotely presentable.

I so feel your pain...although, my van isn't somewhere I want people seeing either. ;)

I hear ya! My badroom is forever cluttered, especially my dresses because if I need to quickly clean the den, I throw everything in there!

I so feel your pain. I actually was doing dishes and said to my 4 year old "will this ever end?" And she said "yes mommy, when you die?" Oh, what comes out of the mouths of babes!!!

It's funny, I wasn't under any illusions that my house was spotless or anything, but I thought I did a fairly good jog...until we moved out this week. YIKES!!! It was kind of dirty. One nice thing about moving into a new house again in February, no one's mess but mine.
