Reading Funk
For the first time in, well probably since college, it has taken me 3 weeks to finish a single book. THREE weeks. For those who know me you know that is unheard of. But between Matt traveling so much, the trips to DC and Myrtle, and all the kids activities I am just finding no time to read (heck I still have had the same 3 Blockbuster movies sitting here for 3 weeks). And when I do pick up a book I just can't seem to get into it.
This just eats at me. Reading is my passion. It is how I escape from life and thrust myself into worlds unknown. I remember reading a book a day when Allison was in the hospital. Books are my coping mechanism. Which is why it is so strange that for some reason I can't seem to read, when I need to.
So this is my pledge, I will read this coming week. I will get out of this reading funk. And as I look at my shelves of over 700 books (half not even read) I can't figure out what to read. Maybe a field trip to Borders, you know mixing the smell of books and coffee, will help.
In the meantime, I would love some book suggestions. I am sure someone here will have something to pull me out of this reading slump.
