The fair was so crowded. I have honestly never been to a fair that was as crowded. It was like being at the Ohio State Stadium as it let out after a big Buckeye win. Wall-to-wall people with no chance of escaping.
There was so many yummy foods. The fair did show the difference between the South and the North. The hot dogs are red. BBQ like you can't imagine. (of course I got BBQ, and it was the "original" type) Fried Green Tomatoes, sweet potato fries... funnel cakes aren't really popular, but something called fried dough is. (I can't really figure out the difference between the fried dough and an elephant ear, but they market both) Can you guess what the kids wanted to eat?
The fair in general was different. Animals, other than hogs, really aren't a big deal in NC. Other than the rabbit barn and some of the champions and a few sheep, the animals were non existant. Supposedly there were horses, however they were not on the main fairgrounds and there was no way we were going to find them elsewhere. I guess we were in between showing and another round of animals were coming in, but it paled in comparison to the rows and rows of barns at the Illinois and the Ohio State Fair's.
We still had a blast. Sam got to ride a horse for the first time.
Emily opted to not ride one of the expensive rides and "flipped" instead.
And this is what Chris wanted to do. Needless to say he wasn't happy when I said no.
Crowds aside, we had a great time.

WOW! It looks like you guys had a great day. I love how you can post so many pics on this blogger. That is awesome. I loved the pic of the kids eating their corn on the cob. Too cute! Whoa! Sammi will asking for a pony for Xmas...LOL
