Sleeping Child

Tonight Sam climbed up into my arms, pulling her fuzzy pink blanket over us. She patted my hands and then kissed them, telling me that she loved me. Then she slowly closed her eyes and drifted to sleep. I sat there and just gazed at her face. I looked at her big brown eyes with eyelashes that other girls will someday envy, the little freckles are under her left eye, her little button nose and her kissable lips and just thanked God for giving this precious gift to me.
