My Poor Boy

Well we had our first set of stitches tonight –– on Chris that is.

I was upstairs putting away laundry and getting Sam ready for gymnastics class when Chris came into the house screaming bloody murder. I went rushing down the hall and met him running up the steps, dripping blood all the way. His hands were covered in blood as was his face. I pulled his hands away and saw a huge gash in his forehead. All he told me was that the little neighbor boy had accidentally hit him in the head with a golf club.

The neighbor boy got his mom and she helped me get my wits together and get Chris in the car with Emily applying pressure to his head. Chris almost passed out once we got to the urgent care and they rushed us to a room. After monitoring him, they determined that the cut was too deep to "glue" back together so they were going to have to suture him. Chris was such a big boy. He didn't even cry when they went to numb him, however poor pitiful mommy passed out. Seven stitches (one for each year) and three hours later we finally were on our way home.

Here is my Frankenstein boy. Poor thing.

Oh my good gracious! I'm glad he's smiling now! I was hit in the head with a golf club when I was 5 years old and let me tell you, I was not nearly so brave as your son. It's quite awful and my mom still tells me it was most awful on her. Hope he's on the mend soon and take it from me - he'll always and forever give golf clubs a very healthy wide berth from this day forward.

Owwww!!! When me and my sister were younger. She was about 8 years old, at the time. We were outside playing with our friend Randy. We were playing with Golf Clubs. Bad thing to play with.....
Anyhow, Karyn (my sis) was standing behind Randy and he swong, and hit Karyn in the head. She dropped to the ground and I screamed. All we saw was blood all over the place. Yuck.... We took Karyn to the hospital. She was there for a little over a week. She now has a metal plate in her forhead. They thought we would lose her or that she would be brain damaged. But God was there and he took care of her. Now she is just crazy Karyn. No signs other than a jagged scar on her forhead. I will always remember that day and the summer that followed. She had half of her head shaved. :) Glad to know he is doing just fine after that. Have a wonderful week.

Wow! That's quite a gash. Sorry for your little guy (and for his mommy -- it probably hurt you more than it hurt him at some point). But you know boys, he'll be flashing that scar like a badge of honor for the rest of his life "And this one is from the time I got hit with a golf club!"

Poor guy! Ashley had stiches in her hand when she was younger and I cried more than what she did. It is terrible to see your child have to go through that.

Awwwww....I only briefly saw this last night/this morning before heading to bed.....poor boy but even more so, poor you!!! I'm surprised they didn't keep YOU for evaluation after passing out!? Did you drive or did the mother? I'd love to know how that conversation went between you and her! lol . . . What a week for you . . . I hope it's over soon so you can put your feet up with a Rita and say goodbye to the not-so-great week. ((((hugs)))) xo
