I had meetings the past two days with the kid's school guidance counselors. One of the things suggested was to allow the kids to be "part of the process." To let them "journal" to friends and family about what they are doing here in general, what they are doing for the move, what they are feeling or are excited about and once we are there about their daily findings and experiences. So what better way to allow them to do so but on a blog. The kids are not ready to keep their own blog, so for now I will let them be "special guests blogger" here and maybe someday they can start their own "Experiences From Life" blog.
So today your special guest blogger is Emily, our 12 year old daughter.
Hi, we are getting ready to move to Japan(the big move). I am excited to be able to see the world other than the US. I can't wait to be able to go to Australia. I will love to see the kangaroos, koala's and I am looking forward to seeing where the Olympics were held. I am a fan of the gymnastics. Oh,and that brings me to my gymnastics. I am glad I will get to compete level 7 before I move WITHOUT uprises. I will be able to compete two level 7 meets. I am glad that I will be able to go to some school dances with my friends. Maybe if i am lucky i can go up to shops on main (a store where every one goes to hang out and they have a Starbucks-type place, popcorn machines and games that you can play) if my mom lets me. :-)
Syonara,
Emily

I can't believe I missed this news! Wow! That's huge! I can't wait to hear all the details! Wow! You are a brave, brave mama! Good for you!
this is a great idea! I'll look forward to reading the "special guest bloggers" posts. :o)
Emily....I have several friends that have lived (are living) over in Japan and they love it! Their kids love it just as well or even more so..not kidding. My friend Joy's daughter said she staying..(shhhh not sure that will happen though causes she's only 13:)
This is an opportunity of a life time, most children don't even leave the state they live in. Make these 3 years your best, because you may never get to do this again.
And if you like to shop...get ready cause the Japaneses have mega shopping! They love to shop!
You are in my thought and prayers as you embark on this new chapter in your life and I know you will do fine.
Emily, I am glad I got to read your blog. I can't wait to hear about your move thru your blogging. (I will do my best to work on mom about letting you hang ; )
How exciting that not only do you get to go see things that most people never have the opportuntiy to but you get to live the life people dream about their entire lives and your getting such a jump on things people have worked their entire lives to obtain. Be so glad and feel blessed for the opportunities your parents are working so hard to give you and remember it's all done from their love for you kids! Your the biggest motivators.
What a great idea Alexis!!
Good luck with your meets Emily. You are a lucky girl to be able to see the world and experience everything it has to offer!! Look forward to reading about your journey.
