And The Winner Is Hendrick Motorsports

I have to take a moment away from frogs and Williamsburg, Va entries to share my excitement in Nascar's biggest news of the year –– Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be racing for Hendrick Motorsports starting the 2008 season. Wow. Wow. Wow.

Hendrick racing is one of the "superpowers" of Nascar. With Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson and Casey Mears as teammates how can you go wrong. I know people want to see different drivers and teams win, but I just want to see some good racing. Yes I love seeing Gordon and Jimmy win, but what racing is what it is all about.

I have always liked Jr, but as a Jeff Gordon fan it has always been a huge "no-no". But now the times are changing. After all there still is Tony Stewart to root against. And even a bigger bonus is Kyle Busch will be leaving Hendrick. Good riddance I say.

Now the question is what will the fans at Talladaga do? Can't really throw beer cans at your own teammate.

Commercials

Now that we have DVR I rarely watch commercials. However I have to admit I do watch and love the Mac vs PC commercials. Well tonight I discovered a new favorite commercial.

Only a fellow NASCAR female fan could understand this Allstate commercial. Maybe with Kasey or maybe with someone else, but regardless who hasn't been here a time or two?

Gentlemen Start Your Engines

Yes I am a NASCAR fan. And even worse, I am a Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson fan. Needless to say I was ecstatic over the finish of the Martinsville race Sunday. But know what was even more cool about the race? (Drumroll please...) We were there!!

I know, some of you can't understand the attraction. But there is something about the smell of racing fuel and sexy men driving at speeds up to 200 mph. But hey. When have I ever been know to be normal?

NASCAR Baby!!

Boogidy oogidy boogidy!! It's racetime!!! After the 2.5 month hiatus, NASCAR is back!!! Tonight racing season kicked off with the Bud Shootout. And thought Stewart won, it was good to be able to watch racing again.

And speaking of NASACR, today we bought tickets for the Martinsville Speedway race on April 1. We haven't been to a race since 2000, so this should be a blast. A 1/2 mile track is sure to mean lots of bumping and grinding and tempers flaring.
